'QUACKED' me up.

I was driving my boys to school the other day and as we pulled up to a stoplight I noticed the vinyl sticker on the back window of the truck in front of us. Had two rifle toting ducks with the words, "HOOKED on QUACK". (Yep, you guessed it-I live in the a small town in the Mid-West amid avid hunters and outdoorsmen.) Maybe it was just the time of morning, but totally cracked me up. My first thought was, 'A card, A card....that would be great on a card for a friend who is always doing, 'Just Ducky'. Hope you enjoy. This cute lil duck is Harold, a digital stamp from Doodle Pantry and a freebie! Tried something different with the background-paper quilted in a Bargello Design. Image was colored with 'Primsmacolor Pencils and Gamsol'. Lastly, what self-respecting duck would go out and about without a bit of 'Glossy Accents' on his Bill, webbed feet and his flower? Not Harold, he's much too GQ for that! Thanks again for stopping by and hope your day it perfectly DUCKY! Happy Creating...

Talkin' bout Girls...

"There is no cosmetic for beauty like happiness.”- Maria Mitchell

These cute new images from MelJen's Designs are sure to bring a lil happiness to any girl's day.

When I first saw these new images by Melissa I knew I had to find just the right quote to go with the 'makeup brush'. I'm thinkin' I nailed it.
"Cosmetics are a boon to every woman, but a girl's best beauty aid is still a near-sighted man." --Yoko Ono-

I knew this was perfect the moment I found it. I wanted a lil bit brighter coloring on this image so I used my Sharpie Markers with my Prismacolors and Odorless Mineral Spirits. A bit of Glossy Accents here and there and some Bling to add the finishing touch, cause a girl can never have too much 'Sparkle' in her life.

So Girlfriend, thanks for stoppin' by, you can find these fun new images at MelJen's Designs and be sure to check out this week's MelJen's Challenge.

Happy Creating.

It's Spring, Where's the Jelly Beans?

Those crazy lil critters of Laurie's are up to their mischievous 'ANT'ics once again. This time they've raided the Doodle Pantry and made off with the Jelly Beans. How can these crazy lil guys not bring a smile and a laugh to any one's day? Jelly Bean Ants is one of the new images just released from Doodle Pantry. Isn't it great, and they come with the B/W outline or the precolored images as well as 2 digi papers, fANTastical!

Love these lil guys and they are so much fun to color. I used the B/W Outline for this card and then colored it using my prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits. The Jelly Beans were especially fun to color.

Melissa at MelJen's Designs is hoppin' on down the Bunny Trail with these adorable lil cuties:I think they are just the cutest and not just for Baby cards or Easter...In fact both of my offerings today are for year-round use. This first card is for my sister Kathy using a sentiment that we have treasured over the years with Cuddle Bun Buddies.
I love the colors on this next card made with Cuddle Bun Baby...

So be sure to HOP on over to Meljens Challenge/Design Blog to join us for this week's new challenge: DOTS! and you can find Melissa's new images and all her other awesome designs at MelJens Designs.

I'm Looking Over A Four Leaf Clover.......

When I saw the image, Clover Patch Ants from Doodle Pantry the words to this song immediately sprang to my mind....I then had to google the rest of the lyrics. No truer message. Life's greatest blessings and joys are most oft right under our noses, we just have to take time to stop and recognize the wonders around us.

I'm looking over a four leaf clover that I overlooked before. One leaf is sunshine, the second is rain, third is the roses that grow in the lane. No need explaining, the one remaining is somebody I adore. I'm looking over a four leaf clover that I overlooked before. (Words by Mort Dixon, music by Harry Woods Written in 1927 - popularized in 1948 by Art Mooney)

The rest of the Clover Patch Ants set includes:
I love love love the mischievious little ANTS from Doodle Pantry. Laurie's images always bring a smile.

You can find her at Doodle Pantry and her Blog. Be sure to check out her specials, rewards program and the current challenge.

Thanks for looking over my direction today and Happy Creating.

Luck O' the Irish

These LUCKY little images are sure to brighten anyone's day and that's no BLARNEY. MelJen's Designs has just released their new images for this week. So cute, you just want to get up and do a little Irish jig yourself.
Lucky for me she also offered this pre-colored image, SHAMROCK BEAR
...It's been a crazy week and crafting time has been at a premium. This fit the bill perfectly. Love this lil pre-colored bear--so bear-y cute. I used Glossy Accents on the shamrock, hat and his pot-o-gold, Gold Stickles on his hat buckle and gold, and just a bit of Stardust Stickles here and there.

Be sure to stop by MelJen's to take a peek at her new releases and join us for this week's GREEN Challenge.

Girly Time

3 of my 5 Grandgirlies have been visiting Grandma and Pop-Pop from Texas. Grandpa, Uncle Dave and Uncle Joe had to be out of town Saturday so we had a Girly Time Day. We decided to sew skirts for Church the next day. We found some instructions on-line and went to town. I've never been able to sew for girls before and we had fun. They were pretty excited and I have to admit I was too. Unfortunately Miss Jade-o ran into the bathroom doorknob and is sporting quite the Goose Egg on her forehead. Jade-4 yrs. Sage-5 yrs. Rane-2yrs

In like a Lion.... (Doodle Pantry)

Well....perhaps not, but I'm not too SHEEPISH to announce that I've been given the opportunity to be on the Doodle Pantry Creative Team for the next 6 months. I've enjoyed using Laurie's adorable images since I discovered them. I am particulary fond on her Sheep, Birdies and worms....they crack me up and always bring a smile when I work with them. So this is my first official project for Doodle Pantry.

I decided to use some of Laurie's Pre-Colored images and chose the Sheep, Easter Basket, and one of the digital papers and sentiments included in the set EASTER SHEEP. With 3 grandgirlies, ages 5,4 and 2 up for a visit, along with our 3 oldest boys all home for a visit the past 2 weeks-I've been more than pressed for time and these just fit the bill perfectly. I've never worked with a pre-colored image before and it was really a lot of fun. Laurie also offers these same images in B/W outline for coloring as well. You can see, they are definitely EGG-stra Special.

Make sure you check out all of Doodle Pantry's New Releases, cute, Cute, CUTE! and the new Challenge.

Animal Crackers - Meljen's Thursday

I went to the Animal Fair..... Animal Crackers in my soup.....
Animals, animals everywhere....
Another fun fun release from Meljen's Designs this week.

We all have a bit of rain in our lives now and again and when those storms come round I've always found it helps to 'play in the puddles', to find joy in our most important blessings and treasures, family, friends, life and this amazing world we live in.

I immediately fell in love with Little Lovey Duck and remembered last week's free cloud image and also another freebie, the umbrella. Paper pieced the umbrella and used a bit of 'Glossy Accents' on the umbrella handle, those adorable galoshes and the duck's bill. Love the stripey socks on this guy.

Thanks for stopping in and be sure to check out Melissa's New Images and this week's new challenge. If you didn't pick up Monday's Freebie you can find it here.

Happy Creating....
