...an' it looks like it's climbin' clear up to the sky.....Since I now reside in the Corn Husker State of Nebraska (and absolutely love it, there is just something about America's Heartland.) Laurie of Doodle Pantry's new image 'MAIZE' immediately caught my eye and I knew I just had to do something with it. Browsed around the Internet for a good 'corn' quote and then I was well and truly hooked. Nothing better than fresh sweet corn right out of the field. A burst of sunshine in every bite. My husband's favorite thing to grow in the summer, that and watermelons. I am such a lucky woman.
I used 2 of the images out of the set 'MAIZE' , so much fun to color up and work with...just keep a napkin handy for they are guaranteed to make your mouth water at the mere thought of fresh, sweet corn on the cob.
If that wasn't enough to whet your appetite, Doodle Pantry has a wonderful crop of new images ready for you to 'Harvest' and several Specials, Sales and Bonuses to 'sweeten' the deal. You can find all the particulars at their site and blog including the new challenge. Each participant who follows the guidelines will receive a selected set of FREE images. WOW! How is that for a end of summer DEAL!
If since reading this blog entry the lyrics from "Oklahoma' keep running through your head, join the club....just thought I would share the 'LOVE'. I've found myself singing or humming them since I started working on this post several days ago.
Thanks for stopping by and may your day be filled with sunshine and laughter, no matter what the weather...
That is just lovely Robbie! I grew up in Wisconsin and miss seeing the row upon row of corn during the summer!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Love the field of corn. Great papers.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable Robbie! I love this card. Hey, I didn't know you are in Nebraska. I'm in Iowa - we are next door neighbors! Totally love the corn too! Nothing else like it! Great card!!

Beautiful, Robbie! That Nebraska corn does grow very tall, doesn't it??? Great card - thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteAnother great card!! We tried to grow corn here in Central Oregon last year (it's the High Desert) and ... ya, didn't work too well! LOL. I went to college in Kansas though and would drive up thru NE to SD in the summers. Love the looks (and tastes) of corn. In fact, I just love FALL and everything about Harvest time. *Ü* Cute card!!
ReplyDeleteThis makes me feel pretty nostalgic for my home town in Indiana - nothing but corn fields! Wonderful card Robbie to evoke such feelings because I haven't felt homesick in many, many years :) Lovely use of this image!
ReplyDeleteIs it really that time again, time to be eatng corn. Where did summer go! Corn season was/is so anticipated at my house. I'm one of those who like to eat things in their season. Just does not seen right to eat cobbed corn in June or July. Why you can even buy it in the middle of winter, the cobs shucked and packaged. Not right I tell you -lol! Wow your card is good, see what it brings out in us all. Terrific job Robbie!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for fall, I love all the earth tone colors we get to play with then. Your card is gorgeous, love the corn cob and jewels! Hugs, Karen
